Lumo’s new fault detection engine is officially live, trained on the largest block-level dataset in the world, over a billion points of block-level flow and pressure data across over 100,000 irrigations.
It's been completely rebuilt to deliver the most reliable alerts on the market today.
Lumo’s been sending real-time alerts to customers from day one.
That’s one of the major benefits of putting a flow meter in every valve.
Catching leaks and clogs and pump performance issues has always been part of the vision of bringing accountability to irrigation automation. And we’ve caught thousands of problems that massively reduced risk for our growers.
But making Lumo Alerts as accurate as possible is an ongoing project. It requires aggregating huge amounts of data to train AI and machine learning models, alongside ongoing collaboration with farmers in the field to build context and close the feedback loop.
The goal is to miss no real issues and to send no false alarms.
That’s how you build trust in the data and the system, give growers peace of mind, and reduce operational risk.
To get the right person to the right place at the right time, growers need alerts they can rely on. Even with no one on site. Even in the middle of the night.
The challenge is that there are countless things that go wrong with irrigations, and not all of them are emergencies.
That’s why, over the past six months we’ve rebuilt our fault detection engine from the ground up. It’s smarter, more aware, and better at separating noise from real issues that require immediate attention.
The new Lumo Alerts:
- Take both real-time and historical data into account
- Watch for all big steps up or down in flow, even on manual irrigations
- Flag when an irrigation fails to start or when it suddenly stops mid set
- Monitor for pressure oscillations
- Automatically tighten the margin of error on blocks with really consistent performance and widen the margin of error on blocks that are more variable, leading to fewer false alarms
- Pay particularly close attention to flow rates above normal (which are almost always leaks)
The result is a massive improvement in accuracy, reliability, visibility and control.
All alerts are now configurable and a complete alert history is now easily accessible to farm managers so they can follow-up on repairs, spot trends over time, and make smarter decisions around maintenance and resource allocations.
Saving time, money and water. Reducing risk to crops and critical infrastructure. Irrigating with confidence and control. Everything depends on reliable alerts.
This new engine builds on our position as the leading precision irrigation platform for specialty crop growers and delivers on our mission of bringing block-level accountability to every irrigation.
Less waste. Lower risk.
Lumo delivers alerts you can trust.
