As there is still a couple of weeks until the holidays, not to mention the New Year coming right after, many people are still buying gifts for family and friends. In fact, some people have not yet started their holiday shopping.
With a week or two still to go, it’s time to remind your customers that wine makes a great gift. Your customers can choose the color that suits them best (white, red, or pink) and there is still time for you to get it to them in time for them to gift wrap it and put it under the tree.
Additionally, there may be people whom your customers have forgotten to buy for or those they did not expect to see over the holidays, so remind your customers that having a few extra bottles on hand is always a good idea.
For those customers who get their holiday shopping done early, remind them of the wine they will need for their holiday parties, or when friends and relatives drop in unexpectedly to wish them happy holidays. Having a few extra bottles (or cases) of wine on hand at this time of year is always a good idea.
Also, encourage your customers to celebrate the coming of 2022. A new year brings the hope of a better year and each new one brings the promise of a better future. You may also want to include in a calendar of things to celebrate throughout the year. For example: March 1st is St David’s Day, it is also the first day of Women’s History Month, and the first day of Irish American Heritage Month. Three great reasons to for your customers to raise a glass, to any one or three of these momentous occasions.
You can find a list of all the different observances for 2022 online, “Holidays and Observances in the U.S. in 2022.”
A tip of the glass from me to you!

Other Seminars & Training
Staff and management training should be as integral a part of the operation of a successful winery as using the very best grapes and producing top notch wines. Yet, despite its iymportance, it is the component of business operations that is most easily and most often ignored. In fact, it is frequently not recognized as a component of successful business operations at all.
E (as she is known) presents seminars and workshops on a variety of marketing and sales subjects to wineries and winery associations throughout North America. She is a featured speaker at Wineries Unlimited and presents regularly at state and province conferences working across the US and Canada.
In Short was started as a direct marketing company in 1994 and added workshops and seminars to the mix in 1997. Elizabeth's dynamic and humorous speaking style has made her a popular and busy speaker both in and out of the wine industry.
"In Short Direct Marketing is an essential business tool." - Maureen Hendrikson, Patit Creek Cellars
