Make Your Winery the Best Place for Holiday Shopping

Now that we have Thanksgiving behind us, we just have to get through Christmas and New Year. If you have not already done so, it is time to dig out your most comfortable working shoes and check your best smile in the mirror we are now into the busy slide through the end of the year festivities and the New Year that welcomes in 2023.

Practice your best smile, your most cheerful voice, and putting a look on your face that tells every person who comes into the winery that you are very happy to see them. For the next month (from now until New Year), you will be busy helping customers decide what to buy and selling them everything they want and need for holiday gifts, holiday parties and to welcome in the New Year.

Only if a customer is telling you a sad story when you are working in the tasting room are you allowed to let the smile slip from your face.

By the end of the day, you should have a hard time deciding whether your feet and your legs hurt more than the muscles around your cheeks and lips. Then again, it could be your back from carrying cases all day. Be ready to take a nice hot bath or shower as soon as you get home, which should be complemented by a glass of your favorite wine.

Sometimes your customers (who are also frazzled and overwhelmed by the amount of shopping they have already done and the number of gifts they still need to buy) might get a little irritable. Keep a smile on your face and let your customers know they have come to the right place to make their Christmas shopping easier.

A tip of the glass from me to you!

 Other Seminars & Training

Staff and management training should be as integral a part of the operation of a successful winery as using the very best grapes and producing top notch wines. Yet, despite its iymportance, it is the component of business operations that is most easily and most often ignored. In fact, it is frequently not recognized as a component of successful business operations at all.

E (as she is known) presents seminars and workshops on a variety of marketing and sales subjects to wineries and winery associations throughout North America. She is a featured speaker at Wineries Unlimited and presents regularly at state and province conferences working across the US and Canada.

In Short was started as a direct marketing company in 1994 and added workshops and seminars to the mix in 1997.  Elizabeth's dynamic and humorous speaking style has made her a popular and busy speaker both in and out of the wine industry.

"In Short Direct Marketing is an essential business tool." - Maureen Hendrikson, Patit Creek Cellars
