Oxidation, or browning, during grape juice processing can affect the color, phenolic content, and quality of wines. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) is commonly used to prevent undesired oxidation, but it is linked to adverse health effects for individuals who are sensitive or allergic to sulfites. As a result, there is a growing demand for sustainable alternatives to address oxidation without compromising wine quality and safety.

GreenVenus is thrilled to announce the arrival of new wine grape cultivars with natural preservation properties. These cultivars are set to revolutionize the winemaking industry by diminishing or negating the need for sulfites as preservatives. What's more, these novel varieties boast intrinsic antioxidant capabilities that not only safeguard wine from oxidation but also protect its authentic color and flavors, ensuring the production of premium-quality wines.

GreenVenus lines have reduced oxidative browning: enzymatic browning was measured after 18 hours in control lines (control) and GreenVenus lines.
