This month, Congress (barely) passed the Inflation Reduction Act, known colloquially as "The Climate Bill." This bill puts an unprecedented $369 billion towards reducing carbon emissions and investing in domestic energy production and manufacturing.
A big slice of this is ear-marked for agriculture. How much you ask? Let's see...
Some of this can be a little nebulous, but one very clear point is that $20 billion is going to fund existing USDA programs. $8.45 billion is going specifically to the EQIP program, $3.25 billion is going to the working lands program, and $1.3 billion is going annually towards climate-focused technical assistance.
So the take away here is that there is A LOT of federal money that could be available to farmers soon. The most immediate way to get in on some of this money is to get in touch with your local USDA office. I've written before about some of the things that the NRCS and FSA has to offer, but to get the full scoop, I urge you to reach out.

$4 billion out of the total $369 billion was included specifically for measures to combat drought in the West and Colorado River Basin.
This year the SWEEP program has $200 million to give away. That's double what they had last year. Contact loni@advancedvit.com or call (415) 619-4955 to start hashing out your next water/energy-saving project.
There's other funding out there too. Don't miss the opportunity to fund things like:
