Our Mission
To deliver the highest level of client service attainable in retained executive search.

  First and foremost, we are specialists in search, so we purposefully do not limit our practice to a narrow industry focus. As a boutique firm, we can minimize blockage issues. That is, because our work spans many industries, fewer companies in any given industry will be off-limits to us. Therefore, we can better serve our clients. We will not recruit from a client company or any of its subsidiaries or divisions for an indefinite number of years after initiating a search. We will never recruit a candidate we have placed, unless that candidate has decided openly to make a change.

Our searches focus on hospitality and mid-through-executive level staffing needs of our clients. Our clients share our passion for excellence and the highest level of communication and follow-up. We are accessible, visible and interact in a timely manner with everyone who is involved in the search process.

We serve both emerging and established companies that are experiencing change and growth. Through our collegial style we are efficient and effective in both working with the management team of our client as well as recruiting top notch candidates.

  • Norman received his B.A. degree in psychology and a M.S. degree in vocational rehabilitation counseling from San Francisco State University. He earned his doctorate degree from the University of Portland in clinical psychology.
  • Norman currently serves on the St. Helena Farmers Market Board of Directors as the President of the Board.  He is an active member of the St. Helena Rotary and a past Treasurer. Additionally, he is a Board Member of the St. Helena Chamber of Commerece and serves on the Executive Board of Directors of the Chamber.

Norman lives and works in St. Helena with his wife, Patti, who is a travel agent with St. Helena Travel.  Norman enjoys racquetball, gourmet cooking and travel.

We are pleased to announce the completion of the search for the General Manager (GM) for our Client, Elizabeth Spencer Winery. Matthew “Matt” Wood accepted the position from an excellent pool of experienced candidates. Previously Matt was the GM of The Winetasting Network and Estate Director of Domaine Chandon. He currently serves on the Vintners and the Napa Valley Grape Growers Board of Directors. He earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from Leeds University in England.

The Zinfandel Advocates & Producers (ZAP) recently celebrated their 25th Anniversary in style the last weekend of February 2016.  The three day Zinfandel Experience was held in San Francisco at The Bentley Reserve and the James R. Herman Cruise Terminal at Pier 27.

The weekend kicked off on Thursday, February 25th with the 25 Year Tribute Party and Heritage Supper Club where founding members were honored. On Friday, February 26th, the fun continued with Flights - Forums of Flavors, and the Winemakers Dinner, Silver Anniversary Spectacular. On Saturday, February 27th, the Grand Tasting was held at Pier 27 and was well-attended by ZAP members and the public on a lovely San Francisco day.
