The Wine Group Case Study
03 May, 2017

When The Wine Group was putting in a new line in their Livermore facility,  they wanted a fully automated line that could handle their different sized packages and offer more accumulation while not increasing their overal footprint.

TWG turned to a trusted supplier Hartness, for  a top load pack, a high speed laner and an overall solution that addressed their challenges:

• Reduce overall footprint
• More accumulation - taking advantage of free overhead space
• Increased efficiency gains on the line

There were several components to the solution from Hartness, but accumulation was key.  TWG already had experience with the Hartness DYNAC buffer. They knew it would integrate well with their new line,  absorbing changes in the line to provide consistent metered flow of product downstream.

 Resulting benefits included:

  • 7 minutes of accumulation
  • 10% efficiency gains, increased incremental volume per year
  • 95% waste reduction
  • Compact and quieter line
  • Operators free to go wherever needed
  • Seamless equipment integration
  • Quick and simple changeover

“Having a vendor like Hartness, that has a variety of proven solutions from accumulation to case packing, makes the process that much easier.”, explains Ryan Dean, the plant manager of The Wine Group. .
