WINE BOTTLE DECORATING

Screen-Printing

More possibility, more flexibility.

Screen printed wine bottles (known as ACL – applied color labeling) is a process by which ceramic paint is applied directly to the surface of a bottle and fired through a Lehr furnace. After firing at temperatures of up to 1180° F the label design is permanently fused to the glass. Paperless wine labels are favored by clients and designers who want flexibility and creativity far beyond what paper or pressure sensitive labels can offer.

Advantages include:

  • Permanent adhesion
  • No bubbling, wrinkling or torn label corners
  • Scuff proof/Waterproof/Cellar proof
  • No application issues at bottling
  • No expensive change parts for uniquely shaped labels, or “two part label” applications
  • 360˚ design surface
  • Vertical height surface 1/2” inch from base of bottle to shoulder

Our Italian machines can print up to six colors, including precious metals such as 22 karat gold and precious platinum. On print runs from 100 cases to 25,000 cases, direct screen-printing is cost competitive with all other labeling applications.

ETCHING

Exceptional artisan quality, handcrafted to order.

As an alternative to printing large paper wine labels, these artisan quality creations are ideal for limited runs of large format bottles that range in size from 1.5 Liters to 27 liters. Each bottle is carefully masked, hand etched and hand painted, resulting in a truly unique work of art. Being a cold process, artists are able to work on filled product. These large format bottles offer great opportunities to generate additional revenue through tasting room and special wine club offerings.

OTHER SERVICES

Dress your wine bottle to impress.

The use of decals enables a full spectrum of color selection (best for photographic images and CMYK) while providing both a pricing and design alternative to etching. Typically used for large runs of 1.5 liter to 3 liter bottles, water-slide decals are hand applied to empty bottles, cured for 24 hours, and fired at upwards of 1180° F to fuse them onto the glass.

Additional Services:

  • Blackening of display bottles (makes empty bottles look filled)
  • Waxing finished tops
  • Applying front peel-and-stick labels
  • Provide and assemble individual shippers
  • Creating and applying warehouse identification stickers or box code identification stickers
  • Shrink wrapping and palletizing cases for shipment to a central warehouse
